Problem: A Strong Product Entering One of the Most Visually Literate Categories in Beauty

Korean skincare customers read brand signals fast and forgive nothing. Retreat Kr was entering the US market as a completely new name, competing in a premium category where shelf trust is earned in seconds and first impressions are permanent. The risk wasn't the product. It was that without the right visual identity, genuine quality would be invisible. A brand that looked like private label would be treated like one, regardless of what was inside the packaging.

We made a deliberate choice most skincare brands avoid: we leaned bold. Rich reds, authentic Korean typography, and a visual language that treats cultural heritage as a competitive advantage rather than a footnote. Packaging is cohesive and shelf-ready across the full product range without losing individual product identity. The website is structured around conversion and clarity, with product storytelling and ingredient transparency that speaks to the committed K-beauty buyer and the premium skincare newcomer equally. The brand now looks exactly like what it is.
